The Class of 2024 celebrate their Ripley+ Awards

We recently held a celebration of Year 11 Ripley+ Award winners. The Ripley+ Award is an annual celebration at the end of each Year 11 cohort, demonstrating the best of 5 years of service, leadership and inspiration.

This year, we had over 150 voluntary applications for the Ripley+ Award, where Year 11 pupils were asked to submit a written project highlighting their personal attributes to the award throughout their time at Ripley.  This culminated in an amazing 20 Silver medals and 4 pupils achieved Gold. Benjamin Pollitt, Alicia Bowyer, Sydney Ellison and Patrick Gallagher all stood proudly, alongside their 20 Silver medal peers.   Mr Goddard  started proceedings by stating how this is always a highlight of the Ripley calendar and a fitting tribute to all the hard work of every medal winner during their  5 years in school.

The ceremony was  even more special as our Chair of Governors, Mrs Hodgson, recalled a personal story of how her own Mum received a Gold Ripley+ Award certificate back in 1944, however she didn’t receive the actual medal until  2016!

Staff were delighted for all pupils  and it was particularly emotional for Mrs Webster who has been Progress Leader to this cohort since Year 8. We would like to wish all  pupils well,   to strive forward, flourish and be happy in life choices. Good luck for your exam results and we hope to see many of you back for Sixth Form. Have the best summer ever.
