Low Carbon and Green Careers Day for Year 9
On Friday 14 March, fifteen Y9 pupils attended the Low Carbon and Green Careers Day at Lancaster & Morecambe College and @edfenergy ⚡️
As part of the day pupils built a hydrogen powered mini car, had a tour of the LMC engineering department where pupils learned how ground source heat pumps and solar panels work, and explored the potential effects of climate change in our local area during an immersive experience.
In the afternoon, pupils visited EDF Heysham Power Station where they tested the radiation levels of everyday items and designed their own pylons!
