KS3 Science Club Building Robots

Our Science Club have been creating a robot built from Lego Mindstorms EV3 that can carry a small mass through a course.

They are using Scratch to code the programme for the robot to use.

This eager bunch stay behind after school for the co-curricular club run by Mr Meeks and Mr English with lots of help from Year 12 student Joshua Ellis.

“We are trialling a Lego robotics challenge which will be shared within the MAT as part of the STEM ENTHUSE Partnership. This is a MAT-wide initiative to promote engagement in STEM activities at both primary and secondary level so we hope to be working with our primary feeder schools in the Autumn on some fun activities”

Mr English, STEM ENTHUSE Partnership lead for the BLT MAT

Science Club at Ripley is held on Tuesdays in Lab 5 for Years 7-9 and covers a wide range of engaging topics across all 3 science subjects.
