In Memoriam: Her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, Duke of Lancaster 1926-2022
We are very saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We keep all of the Royal Family in our thoughts and prayers. As the day of her State Funeral has been declared a bank holiday, school will be closed on Monday 19 September.
In school we have been remembering the Queen’s life, giving thanks for her service and praying for her family and the new King Charles III during our assembly and worship times. Our school values of Faith, Hope, Love and Service were also values which were very much embodied by our late Queen throughout her long reign.
On Friday, we held 2 minutes’ silence, our flags have been flying at half-mast and we opened a Book of Condolence in the Chaplaincy for pupils and staff to write in.
