Sixth Formers are Fundraising for a Year of Volunteer Work

On Friday 12th December, Ripley Sixth Form hosted a festive bake sale, organised by two of the Year 13 students, Sydney and Isaac. Both students are fundraising for their exciting gap year plans with Project Trust, an international volunteering organisation they first encountered during a PSHE day talk in Year 12. Project Trust empowers young people to develop their confidence, resilience, global awareness and leadership skills. Engaging in cross-cultural exchange, volunteers have a positive impact within host communities.
Isaac will be spending twelve months in Malawi where he will volunteer alongside experienced youth workers to mentor young people who have faced early life challenges. He will lead informal educational sessions, sports activities, and extra-curricular programmes designed to support personal growth and build confidence.

Sydney will volunteer in Honduras for twelve months. After studying Spanish at Ripley, she will now immerse herself in Spanish-speaking communities, teaching English within local schools.
