Imogen and Megan’s super Swimathon

We are super impressed by the amazing fundraising efforts of Year 7's Imogen White and Megan Daniels who organised a Swimathon with 7 other children recently.

The girls have raised over £800 (currently and rising) for the British Red Cross Society Earthquake appeal. Imogen swam 200 lengths – her current personal best of over 4km – and Megan did 160 (around 3km) in 2 hours. Incredible!

Megan told us “The best thing about doing this was being able to raise so much money for the earthquake appeal – it was Imogen’s idea”

Imogen added “I did a sponsored swim of 100 lengths for Comic Relief  which gave me the idea to do this so I’m really pleased that I doubled it to make it my personal best!”.

Their Form Tutor Mrs Potter was impressed. “This is fantastic! What a great achievement. I am so impressed by the number of lengths that both girls swam while raising so much for charity. Well done  Megan and Imogen!”

Both girls swim in local clubs – Imogen is in Garstang Gators while  Megan is  part of Rookie  Lifeguards at Garstang YMCA. Keep it up girls!
