Hello Yellow on World Mental Health Day 2025!

On Friday 10th October, Ripley St Thomas joined thousands of schools across the UK to say Hello Yellow and support World Mental Health Day!

The Hello Yellow annual campaign is ran by the YoungMinds charity on World Mental Health Day to raise awareness for young people’s mental health. The participation across the school was fantastic, with staff and pupils showing their support through bright and creative yellow accessories. From hairbands and socks to badges, ties and scrunchies, the school was dotted with cheerful splashes of yellow that brought a sense of unity and positivity to the day.

World Mental Health Day is a global awareness event that shines a spotlight on mental health challenges and the importance of support, understanding, and compassion. First launched in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health, the day encourages people everywhere to talk openly about mental wellbeing and to advocate for better mental health services.

For young people, World Mental Health Day is especially important. Adolescence can be a time of intense pressure, change, and uncertainty. From exam stress and social media to family challenges and identity struggles, young people face a wide range of emotional hurdles.

That’s why campaigns like Hello Yellow matter. They help break the stigma, encourage conversations, and remind young people that it’s okay to ask for help. At Ripley, we believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and we’re committed to creating a school environment where every student feels seen, heard, and supported.
