Bebras Coding Challenge success for 33 pupils
Today (12 May), Mrs Barton was delighted to hand out results certificates to 33 code-savvy pupils across Years 7, 8 and 9, for their stand-out performances in Round 2 of the Bebras Coding Challenge.
The Coding Challenge is an event for UK students aged 10-19 who took part in this year’s UK Bebras Challenge. This new challenge has been designed to be accessible to all students aged 10+. There are five challenge groups, and teachers are able to enter students at the most appropriate level regardless of their age.
The aim of the 45-minute coding challenge is to enhance skills, build confidence, and inspire students to develop programmed solutions to computational thinking problems. The groups are skills-based, not age-based. This approach enables students who are just starting their coding journey to participate at a level suited to their current abilities.
Well done to the following pupils who achieved Gold which is awarded to the top 10% of participants nationally in each category:
Christopher Yeo
George Gooch
George Marple
Joel Dawson
Caleb Edge
Alec Birchall

Josh Stewart

Christopher, George M, Joel, Caleb, Alec, Josh and Sam also achieved Best in School, awarded in each category for the best score in a school.
Fabulous efforts all round!
