Teacher of Design Technology

We are seeking a talented, energetic and innovative teacher to work in our thriving and successful Design Technology Department.

Technology is a very popular subject at Ripley with many students choosing to take Design Technology at GCSE and Product Design at A level. Our young people are hardworking, very well behaved and eager to do well. If you wish to make your mark as a professional and develop yourself in a thriving learning community, we hope you will make an application for this post.We are looking for someone with the following Skills and Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree or qualification in Design Technology or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate secondary school students.
  • Knowledge of the subject curriculum 11 – 16
  • Practical workshop skills including the use of machinery
  • Knowledge of design technology principles, tools, materials, and processes including the use of 3D CAD software
  • Sketching and communication techniques
  • Ability to plan effective lessons
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and develop professionally as part of a collaborative team.
