Colourful Dash for Year 10
Staff and pupils of Ripley St Thomas would like to thank anyone who donated to the inaugural Year 10 Colour Dash, held on the school field during the last week of the summer term on Thursday 18 July.
This vibrant and fun-filled activity was designed to bring pupils together in celebration and community spirit. One of the core values of Ripley St Thomas is ‘service’, and this event provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to engage in a meaningful way. The Colour Dash was not just about having fun; it also raised a total of £954.45 for St John’s Hospice, allowing pupils to support and give back to the community, blending enjoyment with the important lesson of service to others.
Pupils ran the course in fancy dress, house colours or PE kit – whichever they preferred!
Progress Leader for Year 10 Mrs Taylor, was key to the organisation of the event and was delighted with how the day developed…
“As a year group, we wanted to contribute in a meaningful way to our local community. Pupils and staff felt that a fundraiser for St John’s Hospice would be an appropriate act of service, to give back to an organisation who have touched the lives of so many in our local area. The colour dash was a great success, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the end of a busy term. I’m really proud of how the year group came together and fully embraced the occasion.”
