Artists gain inspiration from London Gallery visit
Miss Monk and Mr Fox accompanied the Sixth Form Art students to London this month, for a fabulous whistle stop art tour of the National Gallery, The National Portrait Gallery and the Tate Modern.

Our A-level Art and Design students took the train to London to gather inspiration for their new projects. Students had the opportunity to enjoy the incredible Lucian Freud sketchbooks, the Legend photography exhibition by Jenny Law and an array of modern and contemporary Art and Photography.
They soaked up London’s breath-taking views, architecture and enjoyed Street Art – a place they will definitely be visiting again in the future with Art and new Photography A level students.
In September 2025, Ripley Art department are thrilled to be expanding the art curriculum to include A level Photography as a stand alone A level subject. Sixth form students have always been able to undertake photography projects within their Art and Design A level but this will allow those who wish to concentrate on Photography, to specialise. Having the opportunity to visit galleries which host photography exhibitions is a bonus and we look forward to seeing more in the future.
