Key Stage 3
We aim to teach a visual language where pupils learn how communicate their ideas through seeing, drawing and making. Students will be introduced to a number of different skills and will make links to different artists and cultures.
Pupils will learn how to speak and write about Art, evaluate and plan for their own progress. The main emphasis will be about enjoying the subject while developing a love and curiosity for Art.
Key Stage 4
To provide pupils with a creative learning experience that will give them the confidence and enthusiasm to further their education in Art.
Key Stage 5
The aims of the course are to develop the intellectual, imaginative and creative capabilities. Through aesthetic understanding, interest and enthusiasm you will learn how to express your thoughts and ideas fluently through Art, Craft and Design.
Lessons will teach the skills required to develop individual ideas using a range of media, techniques and processes. We will use workshops to broaden knowledge and understanding and give our students the means to become confident, independent artists, crafts people and designers. We will focus on developing a wider knowledge and appreciation of the arts, inspiring a love and enthusiasm for the subject.
