Specialist Leaders of Education
As a Teaching School, our aim is to enhance teaching, learning and achievement in schools across the region by providing training, research, professional development and school to school support. We offer peer support to middle leaders in other schools through our Specialist Leaders in Education (SLEs).
SLEs are outstanding middle and senior leaders who have the skills to support individuals or teams in similar positions in other schools. They understand what outstanding leadership practice in their area of expertise looks like and are skilled in helping other leaders to achieve it in their own context. They can provide support through development planning, quality assurance, improving performance and peer coaching. We have SLEs who can offer support in the following areas:
Secondary subject leadership: we have SLEs in English, Science, Computer Science, Modern Languages, Geography, Business Studies and Music.
Primary: we can provide SLE support in reading, writing, SPaG, teaching and learning and ITT.
ITT and NQT development: we have SLEs who can provide support in school-led ITT (School Direct, SCITT development and external moderation) and NQT support (running effective NQT programmes in schools).
In order for us to continue and further develop our Teaching School work in school to school support and ITT we need more Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs). If you would like to become an SLE in the following subjects please get in touch:
